Flower and Pet Show
We had a fantastic Pet Show Day last Friday. Throughout the week we had planned creative articles to create such as sand saucers, vaseline saucers, aqua jars, wild flower and grasses decorations and hunting out some unusual containers to arrange flowers in. Beforehand some of us had produced some some needlework by making oven cloths. On Thursday we made gingerbread men and we decorated them with a variety of edible goodies. Some of us also made some amazing tasty truffles.

Gala Day
W.A.L.T. create a video using trailer on our i-pad. We had to ensure that we spelt all our words correctly the first time as it is tricky and time wasting to correct them. We had some of our photos deleted about our Gala day which was really disappointing but any way our creative learning was more about the process rather than the final product. The most important thing was that our class learnt so much about creating products to sell for profit at our Gala. We made $670 which was FANTASTIC for our camp to Cooper's Beach later in the month.

Holiday visit to Cafe Blue
I have been learning to use Book Creator to write a story on my chromebook. I learnt how to add pictures and text and then how to change all of the colours and add shapes. I learnt how to record my voice and add it to the page on my story. I found it easy at some points and hard at some points.

Should We Have Galas?
Should We Have Galas?
Wow!! I definitely think we should have galas as they help us fundraise for many different things like camps and for societies like The society for cancer prevention and other things. It also helps with some kids education with sorting and giving change to others this is really helpful for their maths. This makes their learning extra fun.
Firstly, it helps them learn how to make profits and earn money from others for camps/trips at school. Galas help us to make profits for lots of different things.
Secondly, It’s a good idea for galas because you can raise money for societies like the cancer society and many others. It it also a good idea to raise money for camps and school things because then it won’t cost your family as much money.
Thirdly, It’s a good way to have fun at school. It’s also good way for your family to have fun with you and meet with your teachers. It’s a good way for your parents to see the skills you have learnt at school like adding and subtracting when you give people change.
To conclude, galas are a good way to have fun and fundraise.
They are also a great way to practise life skills.

My Relationship Presentation "Keep Your Hands to Yourself!"
“Keep your hands to Yourself!”
W.A.L.T. understand relationships and use puppets to show what our relationship was about. Imogen and I created a puppet show called “Keep Your Hands to Yourself”. It was about teaching people to not hurt each other and not touch other people at all when they don’t want to be touched by not invading their space. Also how to get along with each other. If you are kind and caring you will have more friends. Next time I am going to try to make it in 30 secs. I found it frustrating trying to create a video in such a short time.

Lucid Chart
W.A.L.T. create our Learning Maps on a Lucid Chart.Initially I forgot to use two-way arrows. I found it easier to draw by hand but once I become more familiar with Lucid Charts they should be neater and quicker. Next time I'll create my chart in the middle of the page.

Amazing Alphabetical Alliteration
W.A.L.T. - Today we learnt how to use Screencastify to make our Amazing Alphabetical Alliteration with twenty six letters in the english
Alphabet. We had to make our voices loud and clear. See if you can hear my voice on the letter M. In the future I am going to use to add sound onto my videos.
Cross Country Goals
I.A.L.T. to pace myself steadily for the race. How I'm going to achieve this goal: By practicing before and after school on many different surfaces and water. Last year I came tenth and would like to improve to trying to come into the finals.
Mrs G taught us how to make a green screen. First you take a video and then you put green paper up and stand in the middle you can say your goals, how you are training and reflection.

Alliteration Critters
W.A.L.T. write an alliteration describing a relationship between two creatures. We used a shared Google Doc to write our alliteration. In a shared Google Slide we had to add a background then inserted png images of the critters.
The Wild Whale Watch
W.A.L.T. read a book and summarise the factual ideas in my own words. I presented my findings in a Google Slide and inserted images to support the facts. I learnt so much about whales from a Chapter Book from "The Magic School Bus Series", Book #3 "The Wild Whale Watch". Mrs Frizzle is an amazing teacher, I'd love to be in her class.

Sunday Prize Giving
SUNDAY PRIZE GIVING!
|
Waiting, waiting then my name was called. I walked up to the prize giving table then I got given a big shiny purple ball some soccer cards and a poster. I was the only one out of everyone who got a purple ball, everybody else got a small reddy orange Mcdonald ball. The teams that were at the tournament and prize giving were Kawakawa, Opua and Oromahoe. My team was Paihia. Everybody in my team got a raffle.
We had a big feed. There was sausage rolls, pies, fruit, chicken, pancakes with the choice of jam or cream on your pancake. I was so, so, so, so happy that I participated in all the games I was also very very happy that I scored my first goal for the season against Oromahoe in the tournament, “Bang!”goal. My brother was our coach.
After everyone had eaten and the raffle was over we all drove home except for my family and mum and her two friends. My sister, brother and I set up a square with the goals so that I could practice scoring and being a goalkeeper. Next time I’m going to try to get the shiny sparkly trophy.
I.A.L.T. write a recount about my weekend. I learnt to practise using paragraphs, commas and speech marks.I also wrote a reflection.
